Welcome to Hostel Mojan – located in the heart of a natural paradise, within the Komovi Nature Park. This park is one of Montenegro's most beautiful natural treasures, known for its pristine nature, towering mountains, stunning lakes, and rich flora and fauna. Komovi, with its impressive massifs, is a true haven for nature lovers and those seeking an active holiday.
Hostel Mojan is situated in the village of Japan, a small and peaceful settlement with a unique history and name. There are two theories regarding the origin of the village's name. The first suggests that Japan was named because the first rays of sunlight illuminate this area, reminiscent of the Land of the Rising Sun. The second theory connects the name with the toponym "Iapanius," which is interpreted as "župan," indicating a historical connection to local governance.
While today it provides peace and comfort, Hostel Mojan has a rich history. It once served as a border outpost for the military, tasked with guarding the border of the former SFRJ with Albania. Visitors can explore remnants from this time on the hostel grounds, where there are trails once maintained by the military, now used by our guests for hiking, running, or cycling.Hostel Mojan is also the perfect destination for athletes who want to train in nature, as the surrounding area offers numerous trails and routes for various sports activities. Additionally, if you're an IT nomad, you'll find peace, inspiration, and all the technical facilities you need for work, while enjoying the nature that surrounds you.

Our hostel also regularly hosts various festivals, such as the Days of Wild Garlic, where you can enjoy local delicacies and the true Montenegrin atmosphere.
